Welcome to Paramount School and College
Paramount School and College is a private, co‑educational institution that provides English-medium education from pre‑school to high school (Class XII) and is registered with both Cambridge International Examinations and Rajshahi Board of Education. It was founded in 1997, graduated its first GCE O Level class in 2004, and its first A Level class in 2006. The first SSC batch graduated in 2009. Paramount is housed in its own four-storeyed, custom-designed building in Chandrima Residential Area.
Curriculum: Paramount has two curricular streams: the GCE (O and A Level) stream and the English-Medium National Curriculum stream. A common curriculum is however followed from Pre-school to Class IV. Students opt for either the GCE or National Curriculum from Class V.
Cambridge GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level From Class I onwards students take Bangla, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. From Class III, Geography and History are added. In Classes VI-VIII students take Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Social Studies in addition to Bangla, English, Math. Students typically take a selection of the following subjects for their O Levels: English Language, Bangla Language, General Math, Additional Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology. It is school policy for students to take all their subjects (usually seven) at one sitting in the May-June session of the exams. GCE Advanced Level schooling takes place in Classes XI and XII. Paramount A Level students have taken selections from the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, Physics and Mathematics, typically with a minimum of three subjects each. English-Medium National Curriculum: SSC and HSC At present National Curriculum is offered from Classes V to XII. The science group curriculum of Rajshahi Education Board is being offered in Classes IX and X (SSC) and in XI and XII (HSC).
